Just as Congress added tons of pork to the stimulus plan, why wouldn't they do the same to the health care?? THEY HAVE! On page 909,
of the House Bill...grants to medical schools will be awarded "to entities that have a demonstrated record of the following...to training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups or disadvantaged backgrounds."(Source: Investors Business Daily, July 27, 2009). How is that for adding affirmative action to the agenda????
I want my health professionals to have appropriate credentials because they made the grade, not because the school lowered the standards to allow students in because of the color of their skin! I am terrible at math, so I would NEVER do well on an entrance test for engineering! You don't want me building bridges! What is the difference???? The cream will rise to the top no matter what, if they have the smarts and persistence...don't place less than qualified people in our health care system, just because we have a shortage of doctors!
