GEITHNER IGNORES REQUEST TO STOP TARP

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner has ignored requests from Senator John Thune and other Republicans to end the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) on December 31st.  Geithner has the power to continue TARP beyond the intended end date, to basically use as revolving credit to those the "Administration" deems appropiate.  Senator Thune will introduce a bill today that keep Geithner from using the unobligated funds, approx $200 Billion for future use in 2010.  Thune contends the unused TARP money be used toward reduction of the deficit...much to the woe of Harry Reid and fellow Democrats.

There has been little or no transparency, and the money was NEVER used as intended, to purchase toxic assets from bans, but was diverted to bailout financial firms and automakers.  Why should our Government be allowed to continue to handout Billions of dollars to "unknown" entities, and especially with an election year on the horizon???  How can we be assured TARP money won't be filtered to ACORN and other "community orginizations"????  Your tax dollars used for heaven knows what!

Give up the "Money" Geithner...it is the peoples' money, and enough is enough!  Stop ignoring the Representatives of the American people.  No more revolving credit for your cronies.  STOP the bleeding, and stop plummeting America into bankruptcy!

Thank you Senator Thune for your attempt to stop this run away train.  We applaud your effort, but We The People need to stand up and demand our Government be fiscally responsible!
