TO THE "TOP" OF THE CHAIN OF COMMAND

How many emails and letters have we seen "Dear Mr. President"?  Many have come into my "in box" and they plead the obvious to a person who has turned a deaf hear and blind eye to the American public.  Now it's crisis time, and I'm going to the top of the chain of command.  How many times do we wait until there seems to be no hope...for a loved one, ourselves, our Country, before we say, "GOD, please get us out of this mess", or "GOD, please heal this person"?  I don't point fingers, because I too have fallen short.

As a Nation, still under GOD, we had better seek His guidance.  What if a Nation of people had bowed before GOD when Hitler was rising in the ranks?  Could a world war been prevented, or could millions of Jews been spared the brutal hand of death?  Why do we think we are able to manage on our own, when we see disaster all around us?  We need to turn to GOD, the only ONE who has the power to keep a Nation from self destructing.

Dear GOD,
Forgive us for allowing You to be diminished in our Country, as laws have been written and passed, and Judges have decided to keep You at a distance.

Forgive us for not keeping You first in our lives.  We have been enticed by "worldly" objects.  We are obsessed with our appearance, clothes, homes, cars, friends, money, and all it can buy.  Our focus in the wrong direction has taken a great toll on our Country, and the world.

Forgive us for not respecting your very foundation of love for marriage and family, and all that it entails.  Our very Government wants to devalue the union of marriage between a man and a woman.  Our lack of morals has made "family" a forgotten concept, as too many are without a Father and Mother to love, teach and guide through life.

Forgive us for ending the very life you have made in the womb.  Our Government wants to expand that procedure and use our hard earned dollars to perform such hedonistic acts.

Forgive us for allowing schools to reject the rich Principles of the Judeo-Christian Ethic on which our great Nation was founded.  We are not perfect, but we have always known You are the guiding force behind our direction in this world.  Now, that very premise is at stake.

Help us to help our fellow citizens to be all you plan for their lives, in this great Nation.  In the guise of "Health Care", our Government wants to tear down the very fabric of this Nation, and bankrupt it.  Open eyes to see the real scheme behind this maneuver.  Let us bind together to keep our Nation free for all, and truly focus on a fix for those who need health care.

Bring this Nation of People back to YOU, so we can prosper, and carry out Your plans in this world.  Let us not collapse into a collage of Socialism, where people lose their purpose for life, and depend on Big Government to supply their every need.  YOU made us in the beginning, just as you have every human being.  Keep our Nation from being aborted in our young life, so we may grow in Your image, and help those worldwide to know Your love for them.  YOU, GOD are our last HOPE for saving our very existence!

THE STRENGTH THAT SUSTAINS

How often I hear, “I can’t imagine how many emails you receive!” That is so true, and at times, it can be overwhelming. Without that communication, there is no bond, no sharing of information. I cannot possibly spend the time necessary to connect the dots, like the cumulative effect of the group. That is why each individual is an intricate part of the entire body. It takes combined energy to propel change. This particular time in history will be recounted in the future, just as we remember Susan B. Anthony, and her tireless fight for the right of women to vote, and countless other grassroots efforts to make America a better nation for all. We are at a turning point in our young history, to maintain the principles of our founding fathers, or let them slip away into oblivion.

We all enter this time of our lives with joy, heartache, burdens, accomplishments, disappointments, and a host of other crosses to bear. Even so, we give of ourselves for the good of all who come after us…just as countless Americans have done from its conception. I share this for those of you whom already know, and for those of you who don’t…I call on Jesus Christ daily, to sustain me and give me strength, protect and help my family and friends, and guide this Country to His perfect destination. Every day is a new day with new opportunities for each of us, to reach out to those around us in meaningful ways. Through small steps we can walk a block, then a few blocks, until we realize we have walked a mile. A mile is never reached unless we take the very first step.

All of us have that “something” we love to own. I love Bibles, and have several. Last year I introduced you to the Life Principles Daily Bible by Charles F. Stanley. I actually bought that one by mistake, thinking I had bought the Life Principles Bible. Little did I realize it was divided by days, and included, the Old and New Testament, plus Psalms and Proverbs in each reading. I had tried before to read the Bible through, but never seemed to keep going…until I started this one. It explained so many passages I never understood, so I will always be thankful for stumbling upon that particular one. Now I have found another Bible, which I was again, divinely directed toward, for this journey of my life. Just this year Thomas Nelson, Inc published The American Patriot’s Bible. For those history buffs, it is quite engaging, and relates the seven principles of Judeo-Christian Ethic to the interwoven fabric of our nation. In just the first few pages, I was amazed at the information I did not know. Now more than ever, I believe we need to depend upon the “Word” of our Father to equip us for the fight of our lives.

Some may say I am being overly dramatic, but when I take my last breath, I want to feel comfortable knowing those I leave behind have a bright future, and the ability to pursue their dreams in the greatest nation on God’s green earth. I hope my days are many, for I am not “comfortable” with the immediate future. We have had wars, and economic disastrous times in the past, but our leaders have always instilled the hope for a better tomorrow, because WE THE PEOPLE will make it happen, for IN GOD WE TRUST! There have been times in distant history when Presidents openly prayed for our country and asked for GOD’S guidance and protection. Now, our diversity keeps GOD at a distance, because we would never want to offend anyone by including HIM in the architecture of our nation. Individually, we must elicit HIS help to keep us strong. Let us never forget the endurance it requires to win a race…and it can only be won if we don’t quit. Pray for these Unites States to go forth, gather her people, and demand the principles on which we were built be renewed! The Declaration of Independence and The United States Constitution need to be revisited by every man, woman, and child. We have ventured too far from the words of our founders, and are teetering on the edge of a cliff. Now, more than ever, we need to cling to our sovereignty, and freedoms, for the good of the American people, and the world.

WHERE IS OUR FOCUS THIS WEEK?

Our US Government supplies us plenty to discuss, worry about, criticize, and debate.  Mainstream media lavishes us with extraordinarily important news we can sink our teeth into…Michele embraced the Queen, how touching…and her wardrobe was impeccable, President Obama gifted the Queen with an iPod full of his speeches, and heaven forbid, teleprompters do break down, leaving eloquence in the dust, for a few moments.

This is a challenge to you, me, and all people of this great nation.  Let us focus less on our inexperienced leader and his bosses in Congress this coming week, and more on the quiet message that is pleading to be heard.  The real Savior of the World entered on a donkey, not Air Force One, and never needed a screen to remember words he alone spoke to the people.

We now begin a week of Holiness and tremendous significance to Christians around the world.  We are bound by love and the message of forgiveness, no matter our political affiliation, prosperity, color, gender, height, weight, where we live, or any other way we are described by society.  None of those things are important, as we celebrate the message HE spoke, and the guidelines HE provided for the well being of the world.

Maybe, IF we get back to the basics JESUS proclaimed, and don’t let political correctness silence us, we can work our way out of the mess our Country faces.  People in Elba, Alabama, Newton, New Jersey, Boomer, West Virginia, Belleville, Illinois, Ishpeming, Michigan, Huber Heights, Ohio, Helotes, Texas, Mountain Home, Idaho, Lynch, Kentucky…. all have voices in this wonderful Country.  We are not made up of big cities alone, but many small specks in the road, where a way of life has been carved and enjoyed by the residents of those towns.  WE THE PEOPLE of the entire United States need to place our daily issues, family problems, employment difficulties, monetary needs, physical and mental ailments, and government strife, into the only hands capable of making a difference, those of JESUS.

As we congregate this week to acknowledge the LORD of LORDS, let us be quiet and listen for HIS voice in the chaos of everyday life.  Whispers are heard when voices become silent.  New vision and direction can be implemented IF it originates from the HOLY source…slow down, and look for answers in the most unlikely places.  This week, focus on the ONE person throughout history and eternity, who truly deserves our total love and adoration.
