Parents of 9,000 children, who were killed in last year's earthquake in China, can be imprisoned IF they continue to speak out against the shoddy construction of the school that housed their children. THAT is government for you!

We sit back and watch as our Congressional leaders and President bulldoze programs through, costing Americans more money than they can comprehend.  We no longer speak in "billions", but trillions are the amounts typically mentioned by our President, who promised to constrain government spending.  He spends trillions and saves millions.  Our government has NO COMMON SENSE!

 Now, like never before, we have government telling us companies cannot fail.  They have to be propped up with tax payer dollars to continue making poor decisions.  We have to "GO GREEN", even if the scientific information does not back up all their claims.  You will undoubtedly be "taxed" in the future if your vehicle is not "green enough"...so your forced to comply.  At some point it will probably be illegal to smoke, or eat foods with too much salt, fat, or sugar.  We will have to muzzle our pets because of "noise" control.  You will have to beg your family doctor for referral to a specialist, since he/she will have total say so if you can seek further treatment. 

Keep vigilant when our President agrees to treaties with the "world" countries.  IF the "world" wants to ban guns, then a treaty could usurp our own Constitution.  KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN!  Our freedoms and life as we know it are be chiseled away!  Speak out, while you still can...before we become silenced, just like those parents inn China! 
 

WHO is protecting America? President Obama has been prowling the globe since becoming our fearful leader, apologizing for America’s mis-steps since its conception. He is spending a “gazillion” dollars…. trillions won’t be enough, and making “changes” that will negatively impact Americans. Given all he is doing, what scares me the most is his lack of respect for the main reason any President is elected…to protect the people of these United States. That is quite evident considering his stand on interrogation of terror suspects during the Bush administration. Flipping his previous decision, he is now considering prosecution against those who said the techniques were legally acceptable.

With all the President has elected to “change” during his administration, is it necessary to dwell on techniques used against those who perpetrated one of the most horrendous acts against America? Maybe the President has forgotten, we the people of the United States were attacked, not the other way. The families who lost loved ones in this attack can no longer enjoy their presence. Why does the President of these United States seem more concerned with the well being of terrorists who attack us, than the protection of the people who elected him to office? Obviously, President Bush was very concerned, and using those techniques, was able to keep us from being attacked again. There is ample proof the information received from these combatants thwarted future attacks from occurring on his watch, but that information has been withheld.

When will our President turn his attention to the most important aspect of his job? When will he realize the American people expect to be protected, and portraying America as “soft” to world leaders who hate America; and telling terrorists they will be treated admirably if caught attacking us is not making U.S. citizens feel safe under this administration!

Today I witnessed a most inspiring interview. Carrie Prejean had a choice to make on the spot, and she was true to her core belief that was instilled in her from childhood. The world will try to make you conform, but stay obedient to God’s teachings and you will be blessed. Asked if the rest of the other states should follow suite with Vermont to allow gay marriage; she responded that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Because she had the strength to proclaim this biblical belief, judge Perez Hilton berated her. He did not feel she represented the USA with her views, so he gave her a low score, costing her the Miss USA crown.

How refreshing to hear her recount the decision to be faithful to her values, and adamantly defend her comment. She was biblically correct, not politically correct, and would not back down from her commitment to the answer she proclaimed that night.  Commenting on losing the crown, she said, " It wasn't what God wanted for me that night."  I can't wait to see what plans He has in store for her!    

I hope Miss Prejean considers a political career, because she would undoubtedly hold fast to conservative values, no matter who tried to persuade her otherwise! Imagine her resolve to eliminate earmarks, and reign in Big Government spending. She would actually answer a question, without “spin”.

Go out into the world Carrie and be the role model, and what ever else God has planned for you. I am so delighted to see a young woman of true grit! Thanks for making my day, and God Bless your every future endeavor.  

 In reading the Thunder Over Louisville coverage in the Couier Journal, I was struck by the mention of the organization “Louisville Peace Action Community”. Mr. Sam Avery was quoted, “We’re here to encourage people to think what those planes and bombers really represent.” Instantly, I considered what he said and what I think he was alluding to with his comment. He wants us to consider the massive destruction these planes have the capability of producing. I get it, but I also realize we live in a world where everyone isn’t nice, and they don’t play by the rules. From the beginning of time, human nature and all that implies has raised its ugly head, and caused disharmony among people. You either roll over and give to the aggressor all he wants, or you take a stand. It would be preferable to negotiate all these situations, but verbal communication and sanctions don’t always work. If the colonists had only discussed taxes with England, we would still have a Queen, if President Lincoln had settled on the Southern states seceding, we might still have slavery, and if we had bowed to Hitler or Japan, maybe we wouldn’t be speaking English today. Thank God we have the military men, women and weapons to defend our freedoms in these Blessed United States. They place their lives on the line in every mission to protect those at home and around the world. I hope people do think about what those planes and bombers represent, and realize we are very thankful for the service they provide us 27/7. I am proud to know my Country has strong military mite, and we should all consider the outcome if it is ever diminished…and Thunder was the most spectacular ever!                       

Our US Government supplies us plenty to discuss, worry about, criticize, and debate.  Mainstream media lavishes us with extraordinarily important news we can sink our teeth into…Michele embraced the Queen, how touching…and her wardrobe was impeccable, President Obama gifted the Queen with an iPod full of his speeches, and heaven forbid, teleprompters do break down, leaving eloquence in the dust, for a few moments. 

This is a challenge to you, me, and all people of this great nation.  Let us focus less on our inexperienced leader and his bosses in Congress this coming week, and more on the quiet message that is pleading to be heard.  The real Savior of the World entered on a donkey, not Air Force One, and never needed a screen to remember words he alone spoke to the people. 

We now begin a week of Holiness and tremendous significance to Christians around the world.  We are bound by love and the message of forgiveness, no matter our political affiliation, prosperity, color, gender, height, weight, where we live, or any other way we are described by society.  None of those things are important, as we celebrate the message HE spoke, and the guidelines HE provided for the well being of the world. 

Maybe, IF we get back to the basics JESUS proclaimed, and don’t let political correctness silence us, we can work our way out of the mess our Country faces.  People in Elba, Alabama, Newton, New Jersey, Boomer, West Virginia, Belleville, Illinois, Ishpeming, Michigan, Huber Heights, Ohio, Helotes, Texas, Mountain Home, Idaho, Lynch, Kentucky…. all have voices in this wonderful Country.  We are not made up of big cities alone, but many small specks in the road, where a way of life has been carved and enjoyed by the residents of those towns.  WE THE PEOPLE of the entire United States need to place our daily issues, family problems, employment difficulties, monetary needs, physical and mental ailments, and government strife, into the only hands capable of making a difference, those of JESUS.  

As we congregate this week to acknowledge the LORD of LORDS, let us be quiet and listen for HIS voice in the chaos of everyday life.  Whispers are heard when voices become silent.  New vision and direction can be implemented IF it originates from the HOLY source…slow down, and look for answers in the most unlikely places.  This week, focus on the ONE person throughout history and eternity, who truly deserves our total love and adoration.

Last week I visited my Mother, recovering from a hospitalization. She had C-SPAN on the TV, so I decided to sit and watch some of the Senate proceedings. Several topics were discussed, which required a committee vote. The camera followed each Senator as their name was called. I was embarrassed when Senator Byrd’s name was called, to see him slouched over, his head hanging, and all that seemed to keep him in the chair was his cane. He didn’t vote, and had no idea what they were voting on.

No doubt, West Virginians feel an allegiance to him for his many years of service, but like so many in Congress, it’s time he retires. We gripe and complain about government issues, many representatives are not equipped with what it takes to represent the States. Senator Byrd is just one example of a politician who has overstayed, and needs to leisurely enjoy the rest of his days. Our “Government at work” is too important to be sleeping on the job. I’m so glad my Mother saw it also, because she would never have believed me, had she not seen him for herself.  This is the perfect example why politicians should not be sent to Washington, D.C. for life!

America needs to wake up also, and take notice of what is taking place in Washington, D.C. One day when you wake up, it may surprise you to not recognize the Country you consider home. “CHANGE” came, “CHANGE” is in charge, and “CHANGE” is taking over...be careful what you wish for....it might be too late to "CHANGE"! 

In a world where every 24 hr period seems to bring nothing but grief, destruction, loss, worry, depression...where do we turn?  President Obama is portrayed as the only person who can save us.  He is concerned with the "world" as much as he is America.  The Democratic agenda is more important than the "good of the Country".  "Payback" guarantees future fundraising for more pet projects.  Since he has taken office, he has plowed through more spending of taxpayers' money, than we can comprehend.  Our Country has never seen the deficit of spending we will experience under President Obama. 

I will not apologize for my Christian faith.  My belief is in the ONE and TRUE GOD and HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.  Thank GOD I still have the freedom to write it and say it...at least for now.  Am I intolerant?  No, because I am aware GOD gave every human being free will to choose HIS SON as SAVIOR or not.  HE knows not every person will accept HIS love and grace to live eternally.  In discussing my faith, I can only speak for how HE has made a difference in my life, so I plant seeds, but only GOD can change hearts.

In this turbulent season of our Country and the world economy, I am thankful to know my Savior is not a mere human being with multiple imperfections.  Anyone can see the state of our times is bigger than any one government.  Human power and greed make for a caustic combination.  It is time we the people "seek first the kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you", Matthew 6:33.  Those who share this belief need to quit hiding in the shadows, and speak out concerning the values that shaped this Country.  Involve yourself in local organizations that take action in promoting Godly values, contact your representatives concerning legislation, discuss your views with friends and family.  IF our founding forefathers had remained silent, we would never have become the independent, innovative Country the world depends on for help.  Now our Country needs help, as in previous times of World Wars, and an economic crash...but I will be seeking my Savior, and my Lord  in prayer...not Obama.  

Do you remember the Temptations' song "Ball of Confusion"?  That should be Obama's theme song right now.  Our Country is in cardiac arrest, and he's handing us a box of bandaids, instead of calling 911!  If there is no oxygen to the brain, damage is guaranteed...maybe that is exactly what he wants. 

Reshape America, according to Obama.  Oh, what a frightening thought!  Sometimes it pays to flatten a house rather than remodel it.  If
these United States can be destroyed, this would be the path of LEAST resistance!  Will anyone is Washington perform CPR ?

Now is the time to pay attention to Congress.  IF Representatives in both Houses continue to support this lunacy, make sure they need to look for another job in 2010!  Ball of Confusion is a classic song, but not what the Country needs now.    

The train is about to jump the tracks, but no one notices.  The sky is falling, but we just stoop a little lower.  Are we so overwhelmed by the economy, that we have that "deer in the headlights" stupor look????   Can we think, react to this lunacy that is taking place in Washington?  How long will "we the people" believe the fairy tale they are spinning?  Hitler thought it was beneficial for the human race to be blond and blue eyes.  If he was here today, no doubt he would have his share of well wishers falling on every word.  How far away are we from that mentality?  Obama is jumping on every promise he made and paying back ASAP!  He's like a tsunami, and we don't know how to protect ourselves.

History has known to repeat itself.  Powerful countries have fallen from within before.  Will we stand by and watch these United States be  destroyed?  IF there is nothing left, Obama can create the perfect socialist state...and set out to save the world.  Thank GOD, HE's in control, and maybe that is HIS plan...if there was ever a time to bring a Country to its knees....it is now!   

How long will we continue in this star dazed coma?  Will we wake up in time to save our country, or will we continue to do the zombie walk, smile, nod our heads, and HOPE "CHANGE" doesn't take us to "the outer limits"????  AMERICA find your voice!  This country was founded "By the People" but now "BUY the PEOPLE" is in full force!  Are we totally blind to what is going on here?  I'm NOT an Ivy League graduate (and proud of it), but I do have enough common sense to see the Big Picture!  We are bleeding, and a tourniquet won't work...it's time to amputate!

WHY was "e-verify" removed from the stimulus in reference to hiring immigrants?????  Democrats don't want to verify illegals!  ALL they want is a larger voting base!  How better to secure this, than to allow an enormous influx of illegals, who will then receive amnesty and citizenship, so they can vote! 

GO to www.readthestimulus.org, and see for yourself how the Democrats have hijacked this Country!  It is time to get ACTIVE!  Get organized with your friends, neighbors, and relatives.  Let your Representatives in Congress KNOW what you think.  Now is no time for apathy, or you will wake up from this coma to find these United States of America is no longer "by the people"!    

Now that the new administration has launched, let us look for excuses to abound concerning important issues.  It all comes down to the “BUT”!  We hammered Republicans for improprieties, BUT, Timothy Geithner did apologize for not paying his taxes, and should be in charge of overseeing our tax dollars…RIGHT!  How many Republicans got clobbered for “gifts”, etc, BUT, no on has any problems with Hillary going world wide on our behalf, while Bill collects millions from foreign sources for his foundation!  

Now, where is that CHANGE we are supposed to see????  He did cap White House salaries at $100.000, …so he gags at a nat, and swallows an elephant.  We the people want honest, ethical, law abiding citizens as our representatives, BUT don’t hold your breath.  It’s the same good ole boys (and girls) calling the shots.   

At every turn we’ll see why it’s OK for this administration to point fingers at Bush for spending too much money, BUT it will cost $850 BILLION or more to try and fix our economy.  Democrats were responsible for pushing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to make mortgage loans to people who could not afford them, BUT every person needs a house, and we REALLY need to spend this money! 

Listen for the “BUTS”…they’re coming loud and clear!  We’ll have four years minimum of “BUTS” galore!  I could keep going, BUT you got the point.

The HOT question…how did we get into this mess? Simple…where has common sense run??? It obviously hasn’t taken residence with most Americans, or our national leaders. Repeating history may not be such a bad idea, in some instances. Common Sense must have had its “hay day” during the “Greatest Generation”, and before, because there isn’t much evidence of it today. Common Sense…please return to help us!

“Keeping up with the Joneses” has always been an issue with Americans. Somewhere along the line, it wasn’t good enough to “keep up” with them, but to surpass them 100%! How many times have you seen the “BIG” house with hardly any furniture, or it is freezing in the winter! How many rooms can one person be in at a time??? Do many thousands of square feet do we REALLY need? Did the “banker” truly twist your arm to buy the house you knew “in your gut” you really couldn’t afford?? If you didn’t think about the cost of homeowner’s insurance, utilities, property taxes, etc…were you totally prepared to buy a house in the first place? Common Sense keeps us “real”, and ultimately a lot happier.

In every day decisions that affect our lives, we’re no better. How much common sense does it require to realize high school graduates do better financially than dropouts? It’s a free education in America, and for low income, even college is attainable. If a household is in a lower income level…how much common sense does it require limiting the number of children you have? Can we afford pets, if we have a hard time buying food for the table? Do we have to have a cell phone for every family member or cable TV?…well, soon you will need a converter box for a TV without cable.   Is the brand new car calling your name, or can you get a better deal on a used model? 

When we can’t live within our means, we have no one to blame but ourselves. There is much finger pointing, but ultimately, we are responsible for the choices we make. Our forefathers knew the meaning of hard work, and they didn’t have food programs, welfare, Medicaid, Social Security, or Government Bailouts….they had Common Sense! Pray it finds us once again, and kicks the “Joneses” out of the neighborhood!
